Where are my records stored?
On your phone, in the app’s private storage. We don’t have servers or accounts, so we can’t see your records, and we can’t recover them if they’re lost.
How do I back up or move to a new phone?
Open Settings → Back up now and save the file to Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive or email. On the new phone, install the app and use Settings → Restore from backup. Your phone’s own iCloud or Google backup may also include the app’s data.
I made a mistake in an entry. How do I fix it?
Open the entry and tap Edit. You can edit anytime. After the first 15 minutes, the original is kept and the entry shows when it was edited, so your record stays honest.
How much does it cost?
Your first 14 days are free. After that it’s about $1 a week: $3.99/month or $39.99/year per family. A family is you, one co-parent, and all the kids you share. If you have kids with more than one co-parent, each family is its own subscription.
I don’t have a custody schedule. Can I still use it?
Yes. Most people don’t have one yet. Just log visits as they happen. You can add a schedule later in Settings.
Reminders aren’t showing up.
Check that notifications are allowed for Custody Receipts in your phone’s settings, and that Reminders is on in the app’s Settings.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by the app store. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. If you cancel, you can still view, export and back up everything you’ve recorded.
Can I share my records with my attorney?
Yes. Records → Export creates a clean PDF with a summary, your timeline and photos that you can send to your attorney or mediator.
Is this legal advice?
No. Custody Receipts keeps your records organized and dated. It can’t promise how a court or anyone else will use them. For legal questions, talk to a family law attorney in your state.
